I’ve not done as much with Mythic as I thought I would when I wrote this post. It just so happens that the games I’ve been playing are either solo by design or have solo supplements.
I have a playthrough of Achtung Cthulhu coming soon, and it will definitely use Mythic.
thanks! i think i might try the PDF on my tablet before committing to the $$$ hardcover. but i already have IRONSWORN so i’ll probably start there first (am new to solo RPG)
Well, Ironsworn is it’s own thing, you don’t Mythic (or similar) as it has its solo tools. It’s a great place to start IMO. It was where I first got to grips with solo play.
Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it with Fallout. I’ve found it to be invaluable with The Electric State. The twists and turns it generates and the challenges to your expectations make for a rich and rewarding adventure.
have you been using this book with your other games? i'm really curious about it, especially for working with different game systems solo

How do you find Electric State? I like the look of it as a different but similar vibe to Fallout
I’ve really enjoyed it.
The Hope mechanic works well and when you are in the neuroscape the combination of Hope and bliss adds real tension and drama.
The combat system isn’t great but I don’t think the game is designed to be overly combat orientated.
The tension between characters is a nice concept but probably better in a group game rather than solo.
In the process of writing a one shot for a gaming weekend with a group in a weeks time so it will be interesting to see how that goes.
Thanks for the reply. I’d love to give it a try one day - soooo many games on my list and not enough hours in the day, lol
Thanks for this review! I was curious about this product
