I’ve also added “chapters” to the show, which—if they “worked”—should enable you to jump directly to the main sections.

As you’ll probably gather, there is something oddly experimental about the process of getting this thing up and running! I’m hosting on RSS.com and relying on their distribution network and “back end” to make all the magic happen. The Substack upload is handled separately, with boxes ticked to (hopefully) ensure that Substack stays in its own lane, and doesn’t try to replicate what RSS.com does.

I won’t know for sure if everything “works” as I hope until I’ve unleashed this show into the world *gulp* 😛

It’s all part of a complex dance to ensure that my Substack subscribers and followers can readily access the podcast, but those who prefer to listen via a podcast platform can do so.

Phew! It’s all getting a bit nerdy, isn’t it?

I think the only other thing to say at this stage is to emphasise that I regard the podcast as very much a “work in progress.” The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of learning (or, in some cases, re-learning) software for sound editing, cover art, podcast platforms and various other tools. I’m well aware that the show isn’t perfect, and there are things that can (and will) improve over time.

But, hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day…

Remember, the show is fortnightly, so the second episode will be released in exactly two weeks' time, Friday, May 22nd.
